Chief Edward Horton Scholarship
The East Glenville Fire Company offers the Chief Edward Horton East Glenville Volunteer Service Scholarship, a one-year, non-recurring award of up to $1,000, presented to the child of an active Auxiliary member furthering their education at a vocational school or college.
The scholarship honors Chief Edward Horton's sixty years of active service with the department. A lifetime resident of the East Glenville area and the earliest known EGFD graduate of the BH-BL school system (1942), Chief Horton's philosophy on volunteering was simple: "Sign up, show up, and be ready to do something."
Applications use a Google Form, which requires a Google account — a BH-BL school email works.
